Building Bridges at Bellevue
A special highlight of the program in May was the project participants' visit to Bellevue Palace, the official residence of the Federal President. There, we were warmly welcomed by Elke Büdenbender, judge and wife of Federal President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Elke Büdenbender is committed to promoting the education system and, as a Board Member of the Future Forum, is one of the initiators of the Building Bridges program. In the festive atmosphere of the castle, the young tradespeople had the opportunity to share their experiences and impressions. The exchange with Elke Büdenbender was characterized by openness and interest in the personal stories of the participants. In her welcome address, Elke Büdenbender emphasised the core idea of the project:
“For me, coming together and learning to accept others as they are, even if they have different opinions and different traditions, is the key to a better and more peaceful world.”
The visit underlined the importance of the Building Bridges for the Future program and showed how sustainable connections can be created through shared experiences and dialogue at eye level.
